Jamie Richards – BA Hons Fine Art & Art History

For the last 8 years prior to becoming a Sole Trader I worked for one of Yorkshire premier auctioneers, starting as a Saleroom Assistant and working my way up the corporate ladder to become a Valuer and the Sale Room Manager. In my time there I learn’t about the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of the auctions and the trading world. Focusing mainly on customer care I established close bonds and relationships with many clients and customers and built a network of traders and contacts.

For the last year I have been a sole trader; buying and selling for clients, from furnishing whole interiors to finding collectables and rare and exclusive individual items.

In 2001 I graduated with a BA Honours degree in Fine Art and Art History, where I developed a passion and eye for craftsmanship. Shortly after I started work for the local Museum and Gallery Service. Based mostly at the Art Gallery, I spent three years there where I undertook courses in customer care and services and upon leaving I was re-employed as Free-Lance Head Technician. Amongst other things I was responsible for; the changing of exhibitions, working closely with valuable pictures and alongside internationally known artists to fulfill their visions.

I also have the help of experienced traders and staff where and when is required.
